In February 2010, the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council (AHWMC) requested advice on the proposal to include paramedics as a profession in the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (the National Scheme). The proposal arose in Western Australia (WA) from a recommendation of the St John Ambulance Inquiry (2009).
