Update: mandatory sentencing for assaults

on emergency workers: AEAV Notice

G’day members

Today the AEAV and Police Association met with Daniel Andrews to discuss the changes to mandatory sentencing for assaults on emergency workers.

We were pretty happy with the outcome. New changes will ensure that the two women who assaulted Paul and Chenaye would be locked up for at least 6 months – no exceptions.  Jail means jail.

More detail will be coming out soon but it’s a positive step.
