The Victorian Ambulance Union Incorporated (VAU) exists for one reason: paramedics and ambulance workers wanted union of their own. We are now the largest ambulance union in Australia with one of the highest membership densities. Over 97% of Victorian paramedics are VAU members.
The VAU was built from the ground up by paramedics and ambulance workers in Victoria and is purely dedicated to representing them.
The VAU is not attached to any larger union and is not affiliated to any political party. All money generated by membership dues goes towards providing services to our members.
The VAU works to represent, support and protect our members who work in the ambulance industry in Victoria, through delivering better wages, improved working conditions, and a safer and friendlier workplace.
